Lioness

Lioness,
I here your footsteps
The deep gurgle in you throat
The night is on and no one can stop you

Lioness,
Ever the vigalant pose
Claws out, head back, ready to
Sacrifice youself on the altar for the one

Lioness,
Your cub cries out, scared
With blinding speed you jump on
The predator, never see’s you till, to late

Lioness,
Sounds of cracked bone
Screams of torn flesh ring on, and
Carcass, mutilated, left in the sun to warn

Lioness,
Protector, defender,
Nurturer, teacher, and all between
You exist for the cub, he thrives, grows for it

The power you wield can never be matched
Not  the teeth , no, nor is it the claws
Heart, Soul, Dignity and
Fire you wield

Lioness
